Legend of the healing water of the ravine at the Syanovo Monastery “St. Marina”.
There is a legend that a father set out with his son across Bulgaria to look for a cure for his eyes. He directed him to a new Bulgaria, liberated from Romania. He traveled all over Dobrudja without curing his child.
On his way back, he passed through our area and reached the site of the monastery. His horse suddenly stopped. He started beating him, but he did not move. He unharnessed him so that they could rest and feed him. The child got off the cart and played in the water of a nearby stream, attracted by its noise. He touched his eyes with a wet hand. Suddenly, the father heard the child shout: “I see, I see.” The father, surprised, approached and asked him what he saw. The child replied, “I see the horse, the cart, the trees.”
The man returned to the village and told what had happened. To this day, people with health problems come to drink from the flowing cold water, hoping to recover.
