The area protects semi-natural dry grass and shrub communities on limestone (Festuco-Brometalia) (*important orchid habitats), chasmophyte (rock-loving) vegetation on limestone rock slopes, Hooded Lark, Rusty Sandpiper, Peregrine Falcon, White-tailed Buzzard, etc.
The protected area is being created with the aim of: Protecting and maintaining the habitats of the Lesser Spotted Duck /Ixobrychus minutus/, the Red Heron /Ardea purpurea/, the Black Stork /Ciconia nigra/, etc.
Between the Boblata forest and the main Ruse - Silistra road there is a small dam where fishing is allowed year-round.
Near Borisovo in the direction of Yudelnik is the centuries-old oak tree "The Twins", which is believed to be over 200 years old.
