Since 2000, at the end of August every year in Tutrakan, the songs of children and young people from Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Israel, Russia, Ukraine, Hungary and Kazakhstan float over the waters of the Old River. With their unique talent, the beauty and youth of the participants and their performances, the days of the competition become a real holiday for the city.
The first edition of the competition was proposed and exclusively supported by Prof. Peter Londev. He became the first chairman of the International Jury. The exceptional musicians who have been part of the festival days throughout all these years include: Prof. Boris Kapadimchev, Haigashod Aghasyan, Plamen Mirchev – composer, Count.
The “Rechny Notes” Festival also cooperates with several International Competitions – “Slavic Bazaar”, Belarus, where the Bulgarian representative Nikolay Tekeliev has been a member of the jury since the very beginning, the International Competition – “Boztorgay”, Kazakhstan and its Director Kapla Abdikarimova, as well as the International Festival “Odessa Tramway”, Ukraine with Director Fyodor Tkach.
